Cattani’s Training Excellence in Focus

Lee Fook Sung and Mark Humphries conducting Cattani Asia Training Programme at Melbourne HQ.
Strengthening Technical Excellence in Australasia
At Cattani Australasia, we’ve always believed that technical excellence begins with people. That belief took a significant step forward with the appointment of Mark Humphries as Group Technical Training & Product Development Manager, a role that is already transforming how we deliver value to our customers and how we grow as an organisation.
Mark’s appointment represents more than just an internal shift. It’s a statement of intent. His deep product knowledge, years of hands-on technical leadership, and ability to translate complex systems into practical, applicable training have already had a measurable impact. Since the introduction of Cattani in-house training, enrolment in our training programmes had steadily increased, with more technicians from across the Australasia region now becoming fully equipped to install, maintain and service Cattani equipment to the highest standards.
“My focus is simple; empower technicians with the right skills, tools and mindset so they can provide our customers with absolute confidence in their equipment,” Mark says. “Because if our systems are running at 100%, practices can focus on what matters most—patient care.”
For our customers, this investment in training translates to laser-focused attention. Our technicians are more available, more skilled, and more capable of identifying potential issues before they become problems. That means faster installations, smoother servicing, and far less downtime.
For Cattani Australasia, it means growing a network of highly trained professionals who not only understand our equipment but can uphold our standards in the field. It’s about building futureproof expertise—one technician, one plant room at a time.
Global Focus: Cattani Asia Training Programme
While our training programme is growing across Australia and New Zealand, it’s also become a major drawcard for international partners. Most recently, Fondaco (Singapore) and Raf Synergy (Malaysia) travelled to our Melbourne Head Office to participate in the Cattani Asia Training Programme, led by Mark Humphries and supported by Lee Fook Sung, Technical Support Specialist – Asia.
This programme isn’t just about technical instruction—it’s about immersion in the Cattani way. It’s an opportunity to step inside our world, learn directly from the minds behind the machinery, and take-home knowledge that changes how practices are supported on the ground.
Much like a mechanic travelling to luxury performance vehicle brand headquarters to master the craft of automotive excellence, our international trainees come to us for one reason: to become world-class at delivering world-class systems.
This is not product familiarisation. This is technical mastery.
We don’t just teach products—we pass on a philosophy of precision, care and reliability. Our training is not open to everyone. We handpick the most aligned and capable partners from our dealer network—those who share our values and can carry the Cattani legacy forward in their own markets.
Every trip to the Melbourne Training HQ represents a step on the pathway towards excellence and dealer accreditation.
Delivering for the Customers That Depend on Us Most
Why invest this much in training? Because our customers operate in environments where failure is not an option.
From single-chair private practices to government hospitals, university clinics and essential service providers, our customers count on their compressors and suction systems to work day in, day out. The risks of downtime—lost revenue, compromised care, and reputational damage—are simply too high.
That’s why training is the core of our offering.
Our long-standing partner Medigate (Malaysia) is a perfect example of this. They underwent our training, embraced our P.L.A.N.T+S™ Principles (Performance, Layout, Airflow, Noise, Temperature + Service), and applied that knowledge across a high-stakes, multi-site rollout.
The result? 20 compressors installed across 20 different government and hospital sites. Zero failures. Over three years.
Our Specialisation Sets Us Apart
Many companies in the dental industry offer a wide portfolio; chairs, lighting, x-ray machines and beyond. At Cattani, we do one thing: air technology. We have applied specialised focus in this field for almost six decades.
That singular focus is what makes our training so powerful. Every module, every site visit, every practical demonstration is built around one core goal: helping technicians understand, optimise, and maintain Cattani suction and compressed air systems so they deliver 100% reliability.
From our SMART suction to oil-free compressor systems, every Cattani product is supported by decades of refinement and innovation. That innovation is now being delivered through our training programmes, on-site and online, in multiple languages.
Institutional Trust and Long-Term Partnerships
Cattani systems power many of the world’s leading dental institutions—including Western University in Thailand, where a 200-chair wet suction system was installed in 2018 at the Watcharapol Campus in Bangkok.
The university has a strong public health mission and is training the next generation of dental professionals. Cattani’s partnership there ensures that those students, faculty and patients benefit from equipment that is silent, safe, and reliable—even under intense daily use.
And that trust is spreading. More universities, more hospitals, and more essential service facilities across Asia and beyond are choosing to work with us—not just for the quality of the equipment, but because they know our training ensures long-term performance.
Award-Winning Training, Backed by Results
Whether it’s through our Blueprints Online Training, After Care platforms, or in-house workshops, our education programmes are globally recognised. We’ve been acknowledged for innovation in service delivery and technical education—because we believe the best equipment in the world means nothing if it’s not installed and maintained the right way.
With training programmes running year-round, and a growing team of experienced trainers and commercial leaders (including Regional Commercial Manager – Asia, Nigel Blaydes, with over 30 years’ experience in the dental industry), we’re building an ecosystem that supports our customers for the long haul.
Looking Forward
Training has become more than just a support service—it’s our strategic advantage. As more global partners travel to Australia to train with us, and as more local technicians become familiarised with P.L.A.N.T+S Principles, we’re raising the standard for reliability across the dental air industry.
“We’re not just growing our training programme—we’re growing trust. And that’s what sets Cattani apart,” says Mark Humphries.
