Mark Humphries Appointed Cattani Group Technical Training & Product Development Manager
Leading the next generation of technical training and product development initiatives

We are proud to announce the appointment of Mark Humphries to the newly created position of Cattani Group Technical Training & Product Development Manager. The strategic appointment comes as part of Cattani's broader initiative to enhance its customer-focused approach through advanced training and technical support.
Mark, who has been with Cattani since 2009, brings a strong track record of innovation in technical training and product development. In his new role, he will be responsible for all elements of the company's training ecosystem, including face-to-face instruction, hands-on learning, and content delivery.
"This new role represents an exciting evolution in our commitment to setting the industry benchmark for technical excellence," said Greg Fox, CEO of Cattani Australasia. "Mark's appointment underpins the next phase of our strategic direction, to elevate customer experience through specialised training and expert technical guidance.”
Award-Winning Training Programmes

Mark is widely recognised in the dental industry for developing Cattani training programmes which earned him finalist nominations for the ADIA Education Initiative Award on two occasions before winning the renowned accolade in 2020.
Mark first introduced the Cattani Blueprints Training Programme to provide technicians with clear guidelines when working with Cattani equipment, setting benchmark standards for installation and technical support. The hands-on course was developed with two key audiences in mind: dental clinics focusing on infection prevention and control, and service technicians seeking clarity and precision in their work.
Central to the programme is Mark’s creation of the Cattani P.L.A.N.T +S Principles, which address specific market needs and local demands of service technicians to ensure continuous operation for dental practices.
Building on this success, Mark developed the After Care Scheduled Service Training Programme, which focuses on post-installation preventative maintenance. Initially developed in-house at Cattani Australia to meet local market needs, the After Care programme has since evolved into a hybrid learning model, combining the advantages of online accessibility with the hands-on benefits of in-person training. This blended approach allows participants to complete theoretical components remotely before attending practical sessions at Cattani's Melbourne facility, maximising learning outcomes while minimising time away from practice. The overwhelming success of this hybrid model has reinforced Cattani's reputation as an industry leader in technical education and support.
Digital Innovation During the Pandemic

Cattani Online Training expands online to cater to a wider audience within the dental community.
When face-to-face training became impossible during the pandemic, Mark led the development of the Blueprints Training Programme Online in collaboration with Cattani Group Marketing Manager Joshua Dalla Santa.
The digital transformation of the programme allowed Cattani to overcome the limitations of in-person training, which had previously capped annual enrolment capacity at 60-80 participants due to logistical constraints and interstate travel requirements.
"The pandemic posed both a strategic threat and opportunity to improve education and training delivery," explained Josh. "Working very closely with Mark was pivotal to the success of the project. With his intimate knowledge of Cattani technical prowess, this became the perfect partnership."
The online programme maintained the comprehensive scope of the original, covering all elements of new surgery planning through to installation of Cattani plant room equipment, while focusing on achieving 100% reliability throughout the product lifecycle.
Global Technical Leadership

Mark Humphries supports Cattani Asia through global technical training in Singapore.
As part of his responsibilities, Mark will continue to hold full technical oversight for Cattani Asia, where he has played a crucial role in the company's expansion since 2017. Under his guidance, Cattani has established partnerships with leading distributors in 12 countries and territories across the Asia-Pacific region, including Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Vietnam.
Training has been a cornerstone of these relationships, with Mark spearheading efforts to deliver comprehensive technical knowledge to support premium customer experiences across diverse markets.
Product Development Innovations

Cattani supports demands of the local market through innovative product development.
Mark has also been instrumental in developing localised products for the Australasian market. Working closely with Cattani Italy, he led the Australian technical team in co-engineering the next generation of the Multi SMART suction system range, creating a more compact solution specifically designed for regional requirements.
The next generation Multi SMART range of dental suction systems, handcrafted in Australia, features a more compact design to minimise spatial requirements while maintaining Cattani's renowned reliability.
Future Direction
In his new role, Mark will work closely with the Marketing team to drive and develop new levels of training and education that will underpin the company's strategic direction moving forward.
"From product development to global technical support and world-class training, Mark is well-positioned for this new role," says Greg. "His ongoing commitment to continuous improvement aligns perfectly with our mission to deliver quality and 100% reliability, helping to keep dental surgeries operating all day, every day."
